Medical Qualifications

Mr Vijay Sangar graduated with a first class honours degree in Anatomy before qualifying with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) from the University of Manchester. After qualifying, Mr Sangar carried out research at the Cancer Research UK Laboratories into bladder cancer and was subsequently awarded a Doctorate of Medicine (MD).

Medical Experience

Mr Sangar undertook specialist training into Urological Cancer Management at the Christie Hospital, Manchester and, during further training at the Royal Surrey County Hospital and the Universitie Louis Pastuer in Strasburg, France he sub-specialised in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery.

His specialist area of interest is penile surgery and he has been instrumental in advancing penile cancer imaging in the UK and is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons' Penile Sentinel Node Steering Committee and is the Lead Clinician in the Northwest for sexual dysfunction. He has also been awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons.

Mr Sangar works at the Christie Clinic, Pall Mall Medical Centre and Spire Hospital, Manchester. He also treats bladder cancer, kidney cancer, prostate cancer, and male infertility.
