Mr Fabrizio D’Abate, Clinical Vascular Scientist at The UK Vein Clinic

Mr D’Abate is a Clinical Vascular Scientist who specialises in the non-invasive diagnosis of arterial and venous diseases. Mr D'Abate has a particular interest in venous diseases, diabetes related vascular complications and the application of innovative imaging technologies.

After completing his medical training at Università degli Studi di Firenze Fabrizio D’Abate has gone onto work with the prestigious St George’s Vascular Institute as Senior Vascular Sonographer. At St. George's Mr D'Abate participated in several clinical trials and has published peer review papers in international journals. His research was awarded by the Society of Vascular Technology of Great Britain and Ireland with the 2015 Ann Donald Scientist of the year award for promoting the use of ultrasound in Vascular Medicine. He is a Co-Founder of online vascular training platform, ABV Vascular, which is designed to provide clinical insight to healthcare professionals. 

Experience

After graduating with an MSc in Florence, D’Abate travelled to the vascular research institute in Exeter to study the micro- and macro- vascular complications of diabetes with noninvasive technology. In his current role as Senior Vascular Sonographer at St George’s, he is now responsible for the non-invasive imagine within vascular surgery. He also facilitates training of junior staff and medical students and continues his participation in local and international research projects.
