Medical Qualifications

Mr Emin Carapeti graduated from Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospital, London before undertaking specialist training at St Mark’s Hospital, London and Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, Canada. Whilst at St Mark’s Mr Carapeti completed a thesis in the treatment of haemorrhoids and fissure-in-ano and in 2000 was awarded a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. He has also trained at the Shouldice Hernia Clinic, Toronto, Canada where he learnt how to complete the Shouldice hernia repair.

Mr Carapeti is a Member of the Council of the Section of Coloproctology of the Royal Society of Medicine, a Member of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland, and an Examiner in Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons (England).

Medical Experience

Mr Carapeti has special interests in rectal bleeding, colorectal cancer, management of anal fissures, haemorrhoids and pilonidal sinus disease. He is an expert in the repair of complex incisional ventral hernias and the surgical treatment of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Mr Carapeti is a member of the Gilmore Groin and Hernia Clinic where he repairs groin disruption (Gilmore’s Groin). He is available to see patients at The London Rectal Clinic, 108 Harley Street and London Bridge Hospital.
