Mr Ashok Kumar is a senior Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the Northwest London Hospitals and an Honorary Consultant at the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, The Medical Defence Union, the Association of Hospital Specialists, the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology and the British Maternal and Foetal Medicine Society.  He is also an expert reviewer for the International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

With over twenty years of experience Mr Kumar now teaches and examines fifth year Imperial College medical students for the practical part of their
obstetrics and gynaecology course as well as training hospital midwives. He has written several NHS hospital guidelines for junior doctors on the
treatment of pregnancies complicated by diabetes, asthma and hypertension and he has researched the effect of maternal sickle cell disease on
pregnancy in the UK.  He has delivered thousands of babies and aims to empower his patients to enable them to choose the type of care that is best
for them.
