Medical Qualifications

Dr Rakesh Amin qualified with honours in a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree, from the Leeds School of Medicine in 1991. In 1995 he received Membership of the Royal College of Physicians and went on, in 2005, to be awarded a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Leeds for his research into childhood diabetes.

Medical Experience and Training

Dr Amin has a specialist interest in endocrine disorders and diabetes in children and young adults and undertook higher specialist training in these areas at the Great Ormond Street and University College Hospitals, London; Cambridge University; the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford; and the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

Dr Amin currently consults at the Great Ormond Street and the Portland hospitals, London and undertakes research at the Institute of Child Health.
