Medical Qualifications

Dr Michael Bone qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry in 1968 from King's College, University of London. He went on to qualify from St George's Medical School, London with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree in 1971. Dr Bone became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of London in 1975 and achieved Specialist Accreditation in General (internal) Medicine and Respiratory Medicine in 1981. Dr Bone became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2000.

Medical Experience

Dr Bone is a Respiratory Consultant Physician and Immunologist with special interests in allergy, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung cancer and sarcoidosis. He has an interest in all types of allergy as well as lung/chest problems and disease.

Dr Bone is a member of the British Society of Clinical Allergy and Immunology, the British Thoracic Society, the British Hypertension Society and the European Respiratory Society. He is Senior General Medicine Consultant at South Tyneside District General Hospital, South Shields and treats privately at the Spire Washington Hospital, Tyne and Wear.
